Warner Home Video is proud to announce that two of their hotly anticipated horror films, Trick ‘r Treat and The Hills Run Red, have been selected to screen as part of the Film4 FrightFest horror festival in London. It will be a UK premiere for both of these Warner Premiere films this summer when The Hills Run Red is shown on Thursday 27th August and Trick ‘r Treat is screened on the Saturday 29th August at the Empire Cinema in Leicester Square.
From Producer Bryan Singer (Valkyrie, Superman Returns) and writer/director Michael Dougherty (Superman Returns, X-Men 2), Trick ‘r Treat is a creepy, darkly comic celebration of the scariest night of the year: Halloween. Starring Academy Award® Winner Anna Paquin (HBO’s True Blood, The Piano), Brian Cox (The Bourne Identity, X-Men 2), Tamoh Penikett (Battlestar Galactica) and Dylan Baker (Revolutionary Road, Spiderman 2 & 3).
In the tradition of Creepshow and Tales from the Crypt, Trick ‘r Treat interweaves four tales set on Halloween night: a high school principal who moonlights as a vicious serial killer, a young virgin whose quest for that someone special takes a gruesome turn, a group of teenagers who play a cruel prank with disastrous consequences, and a cantankerous old man who battles a mischievous trick-or-treating demon. Trick ‘r Treat is a collection of creepy stories that mixes fun with fear, candy with poison and laughter with screams and will be released on DVD by Warner Home Video later this year.
Dark, twisted, disturbing…and fiendishly clever, The Hills Run Red, is the chilling new film from Joel Silver’s Dark Castle Entertainment that gives a smart twist on extreme horror. With more blood, torture, and suspense than ever before, The Hills Run Red will debut on DVD this Autumn. Directed by Dave Parker (The Dead Hate the Living!) The Hills Run Red stars Sophie Monk (Click, Spring Breakdown), Tad Hilgenbrink (Lost Boys: The Tribe, Disaster Movie), Janet Montgomery (Wrong Turn 3) and William Sadler (Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile, Eagle Eye). The Hills Run Red was successfully launched at the 2008 Comic-Con in San Diego, followed by a well-received sneak peak at the 2009 Fangoria Weekend of Horrors in Los Angeles and had its world premiere at the 2009 Seattle International Film Festival.
