There seems to be an abundance of Shark movies of late. We’ve got Halle Berry in ‘Dark Tide’ coming next year and also Aussie shark-fest ‘The Reef’, getting its’ UK premiere as part of the Film4 Frightfest All-Night event taking place in London’s Leicester Square on Saturday 30 October. And now it appears that yet another Australian shark movie is underway in the form of ‘Resident Evil: Extinction’ director Russell Mulcahy’s ‘Bait’ – to be shot in 3D. And according to Tweed News it seems Aussie actors Xavier Samuel (‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’, ‘The Loved Ones’, ‘Road Train’) and (‘Blue Crush 2’) along with Julian McMahon (‘Fantastic Four’) are all going to be dipping their tootsies into the shark infested waters. Lincoln Lewis, Martin Sacks and Dan Wylie are among the supporting cast. You can check out Miss Vinson below.
“‘Bait’ to be shot in 3D follows a group of tsunami survivors trapped inside a flooded supermarket with a pack of man-eating sharks.”
“The team is going to deliver an amazing film that will be technically and dramatically unlike anything you have ever seen come out of Australia”, said producer Gary Hamilton, who claims the movie will the 3D reality of shark attacks to the next level.
More on the project as and when we have it.
