James Wan (‘The Conjuring’, ‘Insidious Chapter 2’) is fast becoming one heck of an in-demand director at the moment and like most fans out there we’re hoping he won’t be lured too far away from horror, the genre in which he is certainly making his name lately. Wan, alongside Rick Alvarez, Walter Hamada and Dave Neustadter on New Line will co-produce new horror project ‘Crawlspace’ (formerly known as ‘Within’). British director Phil Claydon has signed on to direct from a script penned by Gary Dauberman. ‘Crawlspace’ will reportedly twist and turn itself from a standard supernatural thriller hopefully like ‘The Cabin in the Woods’ managed to do. Claydon last directed the terrible British comedy horror ‘Lesbian Vampire Killers’ which aside from featuring a bevy of sexy ladies was lacking in the laughs and/or scare department.
“A family moves into a new house and immediately falls prey to strange occurrences. But what seems like a traditional supernatural thriller gets twisty when the rug is pulled from under both the family and the audience.”
