Arriving on DVD in the UK this month is the fourth season boxset of SyFy’s supernatural crime drama ‘Lost Girl’. It continues the story of Bo, the bisexual succubus played by Canadian hottie Anna Silk. Bo feeds off the sexual energy of humans around her in order to survive whilst attempting to help those in need, and discover the truth about her origins. The hit series of course is not the only supernatural TV show out there where otherworldly females exist bringing along with them their strength and sexual allure for even the hardened male to fall victim of. Let’s take a look at a cross section of supernatural beings that fill the category. Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release ‘Lost Girl’ Season 4 on DVD on 19 May.
In the seductively entertaining fourth season, fate casts a wide shadow over the Fae world, causing Bo to venture into a journey of discovery. Bo and company ultimately realise that regardless of the challenges and enemies they face, they’re stronger when they face them together. LOST GIRL: SEASON FOUR contains all 13 episodes on a 3-disc set.
Ruby – The Demon
‘Supernatural’ played by Katie Cassidy & Genevieve Cortese
In CW’s long-running series ‘Supernatural’ almost every type of supernatural being, entity or God has been touched upon at some point over the 9 seasons. But it’s the untrustworthy yet alluring Ruby who has had one of the greatest impacts on protagonist hunter brothers Sam and Dean Winchester. Introduced in season 3 and played initially by the gorgeous Katie Cassidy the characterisation evolved the ‘demon’ into all new avenues of evilness and unscrupulousness. And when her ‘meat suit’ was no longer a viable option for the possessive one a quick body swap into actress Genevieve Cortese by season 4 ensured the cuteness wasn’t diminished and the demonic packaging was still very much first class. And especially appealing to Sam (played by Jared Padalecki) who eventually began sleeping with her much to Dean’s dismay…Hell, Jared even ended up marrying Cortese in real life!
Annie Sawyer – The Ghost
‘Being Human’ played by Lenora Crichlow
BBC3 may be on its way out but in its brief life it managed to produce some excellent original dramas and comedies. One of which was British supernatural series ‘Being Human’. Lenora Crichlow starred as Annie, a 22 year old ghost who haunts the home she lived in along with her fiancée. She is joined in a house share scenario with a werewolf (played by Russell Tovey) and a vampire (Aidan Turner). Just upon hearing the word ghost I have two distinct images in my head…1). a crusty old woman floating around in a Dickensian style dress and 2). a child whose face is hidden behind her long black hair. Two examples that would have me running for the front door without a second thought. However, if an apparition like Annie came visiting one night I would be well up to get ‘slimed’.
Santánico Pandemonium – The Vampire
‘From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series’ played by Eiza González
With only brief appearances up to now in Robert Rodriguez’s new ‘From Dusk Till Dawn’ TV reboot it was the recent redo of the iconic snake dance routine made famous by Salma Hayek in Rodriguez’s 1996 original movie that helps Santánico snatch a spot in this list. The absoutely stunning Mexican singer and actress Eiza González takes on the role of Queen Vampire Santánico Pandemonium in the 10-episode show and the sexy, slinky siren manages to take sexual allure to a whole new level whilst performing to a welcoming male audience at the new look Titty Twister bar in episode 7, entitled simply ‘Pandemonium’.
Paige Matthews – The Witch
‘Charmed’ played by Rose McGowan
It almost feels sacrilegious to not include the whole Halliwell clan when talking about the hot leading ladies of the WB Network’s popular witch-based drama series ‘Charmed’. Of course Alyssa Milano and Holly Marie Combs are practically on an even keel alongside our next choice Rose McGowan. However, we’ve plumbed for McGowan on this occasion due to her more notable eccentricities. The youngest of the sisters Paige, known as one of the most powerful witches of all time and for her notable abilities such as telekinetic orbing certainly gives her a domineering advantage over any male.
