CANADIAN FILMMAKERS GET CONDEMNED
Vancouver-based music video and commercial production company Triton Films has announced its first feature, the horror film THE CONDEMNED. Adam Druxman, an assistant director on over 50 movies including Paul Thomas Andersons PUNCH-DRUNK LOVE and MAGNOLIA, makes his debut at the helm with this story of Jesse (Liane Balaban of SPLICED), a young woman whose parents disappeared six years ago after a violent car accident. An abandoned hospital appears to hold the key to the mystery, and is also the lair of a crazed doctor whose experiments in nanotechnology result in a horde of vicious undead beings. Luis (TRAFFIC) Guzman also stars, and the makeup FX are being created by the Flesh and Fantasy company (FINAL DESTINATION). Production began this week on Vancouver locations and continues through mid-July.
