GARRIS COMPLETES DESPERATION
Mick Garris’ Desperation may have had an unexpected roadblock to leap over (a fire on the Arizona set made news everywhere), but as Garris tells Dread Central, principal photography is complete.
‘We are finished shooting, other than a day on the Sony lot on this Thursday to do some stuff that we weren’t able to get when the set fire happened, and I’m well into my cut,’ Garris says. Next up the director takes his film on the road to post-production which will see the return of one film composer Garris has built a solid working relationship with. ‘Nicholas Pike (Riding the Bullet, Feardotcom) will be doing the music, and all is going full steam ahead. [There’s] lots of CG work to be done too, but it seems to be proceeding apace.’
Desperation stars Ron Perlman, Tom Skerrit, Annabeth Gish, Henry Thomas and Steven Webber. Based on a script by King, the mini-series will eventually air on ABC. Between now and its air date, Garris also has a number of projects on his plate. ‘I’m trying to do prep work on Masters of Horror at the same time, as well as the commentary for [Anchor Bay’s] Quicksilver Highway DVD, getting my novel published, and next week doing commentary for Riding the Bullet, which airs on USA on Sunday.’
Masters of Horror, in case you’re unfamiliar with this project, is an anthology horror series to be released by Anchor Bay.
