SCI-FI’s NEW HORROR SHOWS
Variety reports that the Sci Fi Channel is developing a four-hour miniseries remake of THE THING, which will take more inspiration from the John Carpenter remake than from the 1951 original. Gary Goldman (whose credits include Carpenters BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA) is scripting the project, with a 2004 airdate being targeted. Sci Fi also has a number of new series in the works, including a pair of horrific titles: CLIVE BARKERS THE EVIL ONE, to be narrated by a demonic character, and LEGION, which follows a man trying to get out of a deal with the devil, to be co-produced by Whoopi Goldberg!
