Frazer Lee, creator of the Doug Bradley-starring shorts ON EDGE and RED LINES, has been trying to get a fright feature called URBANE up and running for some time now. Now he’s sent word that he’s got a good shot thanks to MySpace’s MyMovie MashUp competition, in which filmmakers are competing to land £1 million (around $2 million) with which to direct their debut features. Lee has become one of the top 12 finalists, with a panel of industry folks such as 28 DAYS/WEEKS LATER producer Andrew McDonald, director Michael Caton-Jones and INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE producer Stephen Woolley narrowing the race down to three on June 25. Starting Tuesday, June 26, MySpace users will be able to vote for the winner, and the resulting movie will premiere at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival.

URBANE, which also has Bradley attached to star, is about a med student named Lili who becomes plagued by the titular demons after her roommate commits suicide. You can find out more about the project at its official website.
