Lionsgate have been pissing about with their release of the Clive Barker adaptation ‘The Midnight Meat Train’ for so long now. There was talk of a possible direct-to-dvd plan for it but it does appear it’s finally going to get some theatre showings, albeit on a small scale.
ShockTillYouDrop are reporting that Lionsgate plans a limited 100 theater run on August 1st. Lionsgate’s contractual obligations are with production company Lakeshore and so had to give it some form of theatre release. They’re possibly eyeing sometime around October for a DVD release.
‘The Midnight Meat Train’, with Ryuhei Kitamura at the helm making his American directorial debut, stars Bradley Cooper, Brooke Shields, Vinnie Jones and Leslie Bibb. Jeff Buhler penned the adapted material from Liverpudlian author Clive Barker’s ‘Books of Blood’.
