Two new one-sheets have been revealed by IGN for the Seth Grahame-Smith (‘Pride and Prejudice and Zombies’) action feature adaption ‘Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter’. The Timur Bekmambetov (‘Wanted’) helmed project sees Russian filmmaker return to vampire-related storytelling following his popular night and day fantasy thrills in Night Watch (AKA ‘Nochnoy dozor’) and it’s subsequent follow-up Day Watch (‘Dnevnoy dozor’). And the two new posters certainly embrace the night and day elements also both featuring honest Abe with a trusty axe in hand seated both in his Presidential home and also in a misty woodland. Benjamin Walker plays Mr President and is joined by Dominic Cooper, Mary Elizabeth Winstead (‘Death Proof’), Alan Tudyk (‘Tucker & Dale vs Evil’), Anthony Mackie, Jimmi Simpson (‘Stay Alive’) and Robin McLeavy. Check out the two new one-sheets below.
“When Abraham Lincoln was nine years old, his mother died from an ailment called the “milk sickness.” Only later did he learn that his mother’s deadly affliction was actually the work of a local vampire, seeking to collect a debt owed by Lincoln’s father. When Abe learned the truth, he vowed revenge and kept one passion hidden throughout his life: the brutal elimination of all vampires. His valiant, bloody fight against the undead was all but lost to history, until Grahame-Smith stumbled upon the secret journal of Abraham Lincoln. Using the journal as his guide, Seth reconstructs Lincoln’s life story and uncovers the role vampires played in the birth, growth, and near-death of our nation. You don’t know Abe. Honest.”
Presidential vampire slaying commences in theatres on 22 June 2012.
