Finally we have official confirmation that both Frank Grillo (‘Zero Dark Thirty’) and the saucy Maria Bello (‘The Dark’) are on board the new James Wan (‘Insidious’) produced genre flick ‘House of Horror’. The Dimension Films production will see Grillo and Bello play Detective Mark Lewis and psychologist Dr. Elizabeth Klein respectively as they team up to try to uncover the truth behind a mysterious group of murders that took place in an abandoned house. ‘House of Horror’ will be helmed by Will Canon (‘Brotherhood’) from a script penned by Max La Bella.
Wan himself is going to be extra busy this year by promoting his new horror thriller ‘The Conjuring’, based on real life paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren. In addition to that he’s also back working with ‘Saw’ partner Leigh Whannell to prep horror sequel ‘Insidious Chapter 2’.
“The film centers on the aftermath of a horrific massacre: five college students, brutally murdered inside a decrepit, abandoned home. Fresh on the scene, detective Mark Lewis and the police department’s psychologist, Dr. Elizabeth Klein (Bello), question one of the few survivors, who explains they were amateur ghost hunters seeking out paranormal phenomenon at the abandoned house, believed to be haunted. But what started out as a harmless activity turned into something truly terrifying, and the suspect claims the responsibility doesn’t lie with any of the inhabitants but with the house itself.”
