NEW GRAPHIC NOVEL BOASTS SCARY GOOD TIME WITH SANTA WEREWOLVES, GIANT ROBOTS AND MORE! |

In his debut graphic novel, The Adventures of Joe and Nancy Volume 1, writer James Israelson has looked to adventure and classic sci-fi/horror films for inspiration. "There is nothing like an over the top action/adventure story that has a bit of horror to it," he said. "In the first issue, Joe and Nancy go to a mall during the Christmas season and while they are there the mall Santa turns into a werewolf and starts wreaking havoc.” James says that the 120-page graphic novel was designed to be family friendly, but… “Don’t let that put that you off. There is tons and tons of exciting action and horror elements in the story, I just didn’t over do it."

BOOM! Studios' 'Hellraiser' comic book series is changing things up a bit for it's new issue number 8 release. The series, co-penned by 'Hellraiser' creator Clive Barker, has turned the female lead from the original movie Kirsty Cotton into a new Pinhead with breasts for it's latest edition. Miss Pinhead features on cover B of the new Hellraiser #8 edition which has been revealed by Bleeding Cool and which you can check out below. As for the franchises on-screen presence a potential Patrick Lussier and Todd Farmer's 'Hellraiser' remake doesn't appear to be going ahead and of course Barker himself was very vocal with his opinions on the terrible direct to DVD sequel 'Hellraiser: Revelations' which arrived last month.

DIRECTOR JONATHAN DEMME OPTIONS RIGHTS TO STEPHEN KING'S NEW NOVEL '11/22/63' |

'The Silence of the Lambs' helmer Jonathan Demme has snapped up the rights to adapt the new Stephen King novel '11/22/63'. The new book, which won't be released into stores until 8 November, deals with time-travel and the ultimate aim to prevent the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. It'll be interesting to see if the movie takes the same name as the book as I'm sure some idiots here in the UK won't understand the different date format. And by idiots I of course refer to rioting morons! Check the book synopsis below.

BEATLES SPOOF 'PAUL IS UNDEAD: THE BRITISH ZOMBIE INVASION' RIGHTS ACQUIRED! |

Novelist Alan Goldsher's very popular zombie book 'Paul is Undead' has been picked up by Sham Productions. The enjoyable Fab Four walking dead story will be heading to the big screen. 'Paul Is Undead: The British Zombie Invasion', which parallels the real-world career of The Beatles with a subtle twist - they're all zombies, will see Sham prez Barry M. Greenberg co-produce with author Goldsher. It'll hopefully be a fresh take on the world of the undead which you'd think would be a tough thing to achieve nowadays. But you have to admit it's the sub-genre that keeps on giving!

'MUTANT CHRONICLES' DIRECTOR SET TO HELM 'FULL MOON FEVER' COMIC ADAPTION |

14 December, 2010 at 12:55 PM GMT
Graphic novel 'Full Moon Fever' as you may already know is in development to become a feature. Solipsist Films is producing the comic adaption, taken from Caleb Gerard and Joe Casey's werewolf/space tale. Mania are reporting that British director Simon Hunter ('Mutant Chronicles') has been bought on board to helm the project and Joe Casey has already prepared a script for him, which was nice. Unfortunately it may be quite a slow development period on this project at the moment as Hunter is already working hard on the development stages of 'Safe House', starring Lena Headey (below) and Michael Ironside which is expected to begin shooting next year.

'TWILIGHT' DIRECTOR IN LINE TO HELM 'THE MAZE RUNNER' ADAPTION? |

Texan director Catherine Hardwicke is going to have to tread very carefully over the coming years before she gets pigeon-holed into the go-to gal for 'teen' fantasy flicks. Already notching up 'Twilight' and the upcoming 'Red Riding Hood', with Amanda Seyfried (below), Hardwicke is currently in negotiations to take on the feature adaption of James Dashner's 'The Maze Runner'. The first book in the popular sci-fi trilogy from Dashner could mark a new project for Hardwicke although she has quite the upcoming schedule of work including a fresh version of 'Hamlet' starring Emile Hirsch.
