NEW HOPE FOR PHANTASM?
Phantasm fans, rejoice! Well, sort of…
The website for all things Phantasm, aptly titled Phantasm’s End, learned some new information recently about the forever-in-the-works box set of Phantasm films that Anchor Bay UK is supposed to be putting out. If you head on over to AB UK’s official site, you’ll see a note stating that director Don Coscarelli is personally overseeing the remasters and transfers of all four movies, which goes a long way to explaining the delay.
However…the Creature Corner first got this info on Monday and they e-mailed Don right away for confirmation, who said though there is a lot of interest, no plans are set for it yet. Not sure what these two fairly conflicting pieces of news might mean, but I guess we’ll find out in due time.
In other cool Coscarelli news, he also dropped that Anchor Bay UK is going to be releasing Bubba Ho-Tep into select theaters across the country in October, with a DVD to follow shortly thereafter.
