MPAA KILLS HOUSE OF THE DEAD SITE
Deemed ‘too violent,’ the MPAA has ordered Artisan and the filmmakers behind the HOUSE OF THE DEAD website (HouseoftheDeadMovie.com) to take down its official site due to the number of ‘extremely gory’ stills that were up. The MPAA not only has jurisdiction over films themselves, but also movie posters, trailers and official sites, prompting many studios to ‘leak’ stuff onto the ‘net a’la recent ‘bootleg’ CABIN FEVER trailers hitting everywhere. No word on how soon a new HOUSE OF THE DEAD site will go up, but it seems that the horror community is the one most often struck by the MPAA, particularly when it comes to all things web-related.
You can still check out the trailer for the film here – a Fangoria.com exclusive.
