HURD JOINS BAVA REMAKE PROJECT
Creature Corner reports that veteran genre producer Gale Anne Hurd (ALIENS, TREMORS, THE RELIC) and her Valhalla company have joined forces with Kismet Entertainment on the latters long-mooted slate of Mario Bava remakes. Theyre now taking pitches on reduxes of 13 titles by the Italian master: the fright films BARON BLOOD, BLACK SABBATH, BLACK SUNDAY, FIVE DOLLS FOR AN AUGUST MOON, HOUSE OF EXORCISM, KIDNAPPED (the restored version of which has been playing art-house dates over the past year), KILL BABY KILL, LISA AND THE DEVIL (say, isnt that the same movie as HOUSE OF EXORCISM?), THE GIRL WHO KNEW TOO MUCH (a.k.a. THE EVIL EYE) and TWITCH OF THE DEATH NERVE, along with the non-horror titles FOUR TIMES THAT NIGHT, KNIVES OF THE AVENGER and ROY COLT AND WINCHESTER JACK.
