SAINT ANGE TALK & FIRST PIC
Pascal Laugier, writer/director of the upcoming supernatural chiller SAINT ANGE, sent Fango an exclusive first pic from the movie, and he knows what the fans want to see: Thats Lucio Fulci film veteran Catriona MacColl in the role of Francard, and a fantasticand very kindactress, according to Laugier.
The filmmaker goes on to give Fango a status report on the movie, which is about the spooky events that befall a young housecleaner (Virginie Ledoyen) at the deserted former orphanage of the title. We are now starting the final mix, and the film will be totally completed in March, he says. The great Joe LoDuca is now finishing the score. LoDuca, a veteran of the EVIL DEAD trilogy and BROTHERHOOD OF THE WOLF (whose creators, Christophe Gans and Richard Grandpierre, are producing SAINT ANGE), replaces originally announced composer Claudio Simonetti.
SAINT ANGE is a straight no humor, no cynicism Gothic chiller, with some really scary moments, Laugier continues. Although the end is very weird and unexpected, it is not a final twist film, and no, the heroine is not supposed to be dead since the beginning. Focus Features will release the movie in the U.S. next year.
