It’s probably made enough bank to warrant one, but Keanu Reeves tells Coming Soon that we shouldn’t hold our breath for a “Constantine” sequel.
“I would do that in a second,” he says, adding that he’s not sure it’ll happen though, regardless of what Producers Michael Uslan and Lorenzo DiBonaventura have said. “They’re producers, so they have to be optimistic. It’s not up to me, man. It’s up to whomever wants to provide the resources to make that movie. I don’t think Warner Bros. is going to do it. I don’t think it makes fiscal sense for them, because they don’t feel it will make money.”
Meantime, Reeves told the site a little about his part in the upcoming “Stompanato”, saying “I’m meeting with Adrian Lyne and Catherine Zeta-Jones to do some reading of some of the scenes and hopefully, we can get that picture made. It’s a HELL of a story. I think Johnny is trying to self-realize and being a gangster gets in his way. He wants to realize himself, but there’s all these kind of boxes that he’s put in, and he’s trying to get out of them. He wants to be in love and be with this woman, he wants to create and be a producer. He just doesn’t want to be where he comes from; he wants to be more than that. I always see it as a kind of Beaty and the Beast, where he doesn’t want to get rid of [the beast], but he wants to be more than the brute”.
