Director John Landis (An American Werewolf in London), who is slowly ingratiating himself back into the horror scene, is set to helm Gone for Image Entertainment and Dark Horse Indie. Landis recently wrapped Deer Woman, an episode of IDT Entertainment’s Masters of Horror series.
Although Variety doesn’t go any further than to say that Gone is a haunted house tale, I suspect this is based on the short story of the same name which first appeared in The Dark Horse Book of Hauntings, a comic book anthology focusing on the supernatural. Based on a story by DH’s Mike Richardson, Gone focuses on a young boy whose friends enter a condemned house and never come out. The boy goes to his mother and the local authorities for help, but even they get drawn into the house never to return again.
Again, it’s a short story so it will likely see some heavy story development.
The film stars our beloved Chin and finds him being “kidnapped from the set of a ‘B’ horror movie” and is driven into a real-life horror situation.
