Marco Beltrami (TERMINATOR 3, HELLBOY, SCREAM) has been hired to score THE OMEN 666, the remake of the 1976 horror classic that earned Jerry Goldsmith his one and only Academy Award, musicfromthemovies.com has reported. 20th Century Fox has confirmed Beltrami’s involvement in the film. The composer previously provided an inventive score for director John Moore’s previous film, FLIGHT OF THE PHOENIX.
It’s too early in the process to say if any of Jerry Goldsmith’s legendary choral score will be used in the new film. The cast includes Liev Schreiber, doing the Robert Thorn part (portrayed by Gregory Peck in the original film), Julia Stiles, Mia Farrow and David Thewlis. Shooting began in Croatia on 12 October and the film will premiere on 6 June next year.
Beltrami has two other thrilling future assignments: UNDERWORLD: EVOLUTION (the sequel to the 2003 vampire/werewolf battle) and THE INVISIBLE, a remake of a Swedish ghost thriller from 2002.
