BROTHERS GRIMM BEGINS JUNE
The Terry Gilliam-helmed Brothers Grimm will start filming in Prague on June 30, says Variety. The 17-week shoot films through October 23 at Barrandov and on location in the Czech Republic.
The horror/comedy fairytale fictionalization of the Grimm brothers’ lives had been floated for Prague for well over a year before getting the final go-ahead when Miramax’s Dimension Films partnered with MGM to co-finance, produce and handle domestic distribution on the $75 million adaptation.
Heath Ledger and Matt Damon are slated to play German authors Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm as traveling spellbusters, claiming to protect townsfolk from enchanted creatures until they come face to face with a real magical curse.
