It’s been a really long time since we’ve reported on Alice, the film adaptation of EA’s American McGee’s Alice video game from a few years back. After years of silence, different directors and writers and turnarounds galore, the project has resurfaced yet again!
According to the Hollywood North Report, Universal is prepping the Alice shoot in Langley, British Columbia, with director Marcus (Texas Chainsaw Massacre) Nispel and star Sarah Michelle Gellar still attached.
As you may recall, the story follows Alice’s return to Wonderland after spending years in an asylum, when she’s summoned by the White Rabbit to try and save the crumbling fantasy world from the evil Red Queen.
The plan is to have the film in theaters by July of 2008, so the big questions here are A) is Nispel really still attached to direct, and if so B) how does this affect his possible directing gig on the Friday the 13th remake?
