Just last week we bought you a new look UK quad poster for Gareth Edward’s new horror ‘Monsters’. And now IGN have bought us the new official trailer which looks pretty intriguing to say the least. It’s always had ‘District 9’ comparisons thrown around at it, perhaps unfairly, but I think we can gain a little more originality than that from this initital trailer. Let’s just hope it isn’t marketed too much in a way that resembles the oscar-nominated sci-fi flick.
‘Monsters’, written and directed by Gareth Edwards, stars Whitney Able (below) and Scoot McNairy and deals with a past NASA discovery of the possibility of alien life within our solar system. A probe was launched to collect samples, but crashed upon re-entry over Central America. Soon after new life forms began to appear there and half of Mexico was quarantined as an “Infected Zone.” Today, the American and Mexican military still struggle to contain “the creatures”… The story begins when a US journalist agrees to escort a shaken American tourist through the infected zone in Mexico to the safety of the US border.
‘Monsters’ will arrive across the US on 29 October.
