The two new ‘Cabin Fever’ follow-ups will kick off shooting back to back in the Dominican Republic next month. Casting has already commenced for the first movie ‘Cabin Fever: Patient Zero’ and the hunt is on for a “very thin actor, able to play an unhealthy, infected patient”. Along with this piece of casting news came two new synopses for both ‘Patient Zero’, helmed by Kaare Andrews (‘Altitude’) and penned by Jake Wade Wall (‘The Hitcher’, ‘Amusement’), and second sequel ‘Cabin Fever: Outbreak’, penned by Adam Marcus and Deborah Marcus (‘The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D’). The full rundown of requirements for the newly announced character named ‘Porter Wells’ can be found below along with the two new synopses.
Casting Call for ‘Porter Wells’
“30 to 50, looking for a very thin actor, able to play an unhealthy, infected patient. A handsome, conservative looking man, with a wife and daughter, he’s the sole survivor of an outbreak of the flesh eating virus. Terrified when he’s literally taken prisoner for the crime of being a survivor, Porter has his civil rights meticulously stripped from him as he’s turned into a lab rat by Dr. Edwards. Very very angry that he’s been forcibly separated from his family, and aware that he’ll be a prisoner until they find a vaccine, Porter plots a ruthless, determined revenge, as he has one very potent weapon at his disposal: his infectious bodily fluids..”
‘Cabin Fever: Patient Zero’
“Marcus Bently is an alluring, suntanned, physically strapping young American man who who’s passion for sailing and diving inspired him to open a business leading undersea diving adventures with his best buddy, Dobs Towe. Marcus goes to the Dominican Republic because he falls in love with an heiress of a wealthy family, Catalina Arias, with whom he intends to marry – albeit with a slight case of cold feet. Catalina sets up a lavish bachelor party for Marcus and his friends aboard a luxury yacht, which ends up floating too close to an uncharted island. The island is a scientific research facility run by an inhumane Dr. Edwards, who is intent on finding a vaccine for a flesh-eating virus that could strip humanity literally down to the bones. Marcus and his friends must find a way to survive before the flesh eating disease consumes them all.”
‘Cabin Fever: Outbreak’
“In this second film in the prequels, a doctor and his family travel to a remote Caribbean island to investigate a minor flu outbreak, only to discover a vicious flesh-eating virus that threatens everyone on the island. The family is faced with responsibility to prevent a worldwide epidemic.”
