Whilst most of you probably remember her as the young star from early 90’s family drama ‘My Girl’ the now 31-year old actress Anna Chlumsky (below) is the latest to join the cast of the new prequel TV series ‘Hannibal’ for NBC. Chlumsky is set for a guest role on the series created by Bryan Fuller (‘Pushing Daisies’, ‘Heroes’) and will play Miriam Lass, the young FBI trainee under the tutelage of Jack Crawford – who will be played by Laurence Fishburne (‘Event Horizon’). The drama series is yet to score a premiere date but does star Hugh Dancy as Will Graham and Mads Mikkelsen (‘Casino Royale’) as the legendary cannibal doctor. Chlumsky can be seen currently in political comedy ‘Veep’. Caroline Dhavernas, Molly Shannon, Chelan Simons, Ellen Greene, Gina Torres and Raul Esparza all co-star in the new show.

In this new drama from Bryan Fuller (“Pushing Daisies,” “Heroes”) based on the characters from Thomas Harris’ classic novels, we see where this incredible story began.

Graham’s unique way of thinking gives him the astonishing ability to empathize with anyone – even psychopaths. He seems to know what makes them tick. But when the mind of the twisted killer he’s pursuing is too complicated for even Will to comprehend, he enlists the help of Dr. Lecter, one of the premier psychiatric minds in the country. Armed with the uncanny expertise of the brilliant doctor, Will and Hannibal (known as a serial killer only to the audience) form a brilliant partnership, and it seems there’s no villain they can’t catch. If Will only knew…”
