British actors being cast into leading roles in US TV dramas is nothing new but it’s happened again as ‘Salmon Fishing in the Yemen’ actor Tom Mison nabs the role of Ichabod Crane in Fox’s new ‘Sleepy Hollow’ series. The supernatural themed show will see Crane, as a Revolutionary War captain, whom lops off the horseman’s head then for some reason is transported to modern day where he solves bizarre goings on in the Hollow where the headless one returns to haunt the locals. Mison (below) stars alongside Orlando Jones (‘Evolution’), hottie Katia Winter (‘Dexter’) and Nicole Baharie. The series penned by Alex Kurtzman (‘Fringe’) and Roberto Orci (‘Star Trek’) will see ‘Underworld’ helmer Len Wiseman take on the pilot.
“Ichabod is described as a captain in the Revolutionary War who has been to hell and back. The former history professor finds himself catapulted to present day Sleepy Hollow, where he’s indicted for the murder of a police officer and forced to prove not only his innocence but make a wary detective believe he’s a traveler from the 18th century.”
