For experienced open water diver Kate (Halle Berry), the memory of a brutal shark attack has left its scars. But with the bank about to take her boat she accepts a lucrative deal from an extreme thrill-seeking businessman who wants her to lead a dive with Great Whites… outside of the cage. Heading out to sea with her crew she sets course for the world’s deadliest feeding ground: Shark Alley. Playing on our fear of sharks, the film is also an exploration of the lengths people will go to in order to survive. As producer Mathew Chausse says of the project, “What attracted me was a fascination with Great White sharks and of having a thriller that is not just a genre film. It’s a suspense film, but also a character study that looks at relationships between people thrown into extreme circumstances and how they survive. So it’s basically a thriller that takes place in shark-infested waters. Our characters are in the wrong place at the wrong time.
