From the infamous shower scene in Psycho to Jonny Depp’s messy demise in A Nightmare on Elm Street, horror films have given us some of the most shocking, painful and gruesome deaths ever seen on screen – but what is the worst way to die of them all?
Featuring a series of horrifically frightening deaths, DEVIL is the first instalment in The Night Chronicles, a series of terrifying stories conceived by acclaimed director, M. Night Shyamalan (The Sixth Sense, Signs), and documents the horrifying events which arise after a dramatic suicide at an urban office tower-block. To celebrate the Blu-ray and DVD release of this claustrophobic thriller from 24th January 2011, Horror Asylum has teamed up with Universal Pictures to find out what you think is the worst ever way to die in a horror movie. The top 10 entries will receive a copy of DEVIL on DVD.
The film follows the fate of five unsuspecting strangers, all seemingly normal but each with a sinister secret to hide. The drama unfolds as the unlikely group become trapped in a tiny, airless lift several stories up, unaware that they have in fact been drawn into the start of a disturbing experience with the Devil. Plunged into darkness and unable to contact the outside world, terror and tensions rise as one by one the passengers fall victim to an evil presence. With no obvious culprit, it is up to infallible Detective Bowden (Chris Messina – Julie & Julia, Vicky Christina Barcelona) to solve the mystery, and in doing so, uncover the chilling secret that inextricably links their lives. Despite doing everything he can, all Bowden’s rescue efforts are mysteriously thwarted, allowing fear, dread and panic to reign in the elevator. Eventually all is revealed in a spectacular and horrifying finale… but who will survive?
