The fate of the human race hangs in the balance when otherworldly humanoid Klaatu arrives on Cold War-era Earth as a harbinger of doom. Sent by an alien species and accompanied by a giant and ominous robot, he has one mission: warn mankind that unless it ceases its violent behaviour the Earth will be destroyed.
