    SITGES FILM FEST ANNOUNCES 2003 LINEUP


    Spain￿s Sitges Film Festival, one of the world￿s top genre movie showcases, has announced its huge slate of fantasy and horror features for this year￿s event, running November 27-December 7. The main fantastic section will include Takashi Shimizu￿s JU-ON 2, Nicolas Winding Refn￿s FEAR X, Julian Richards￿ THE LAST HORROR MOVIE, the Spierig brothers￿ UNDEAD, Takashi Miike￿s surreal GOZU, Alexandre Aja￿s HAUTE TENSION, George (ANOTHER HEAVEN) Iida￿s DRAGONHEAD, the Korean chillers ACACIA, A TALE OF TWO SISTERS and THE UNINVITED and many others. Among the genre titles in the New Visions section are Stuart Gordon￿s KING OF THE ANTS, Kiyoshi Kurosawa￿s DOPPELGANGER, Karim Hussain￿s ASCENSION, the Japanese horror/comedy NINE SOULS and AMERICAN CRIME, the new thriller from the makers of COOKERS; the Orient Express section contains BATTLE ROYALE II, Ryuhei (VERSUS) Kitamura￿s ARAGAMI, the vampire spectacular TWINS EFFECT, Takashi Miike￿s CHAKUSHIN ARI, the horror films NEW BLOOD and MEMORIES OF MURDER and others; a Curtis Harrington retrospective including NIGHT TIDE, WHAT￿S THE MATTER WITH HELEN, THE KILLING KIND, the new USHER and more; a Mondo Macabro showcase with ALUCARDA, JIGOKU, THE LIVING CORPSE, etc.; a ￿Sesiones Golfas￿ section that includes the standout French chiler DEAD END, Tobe Hooper￿s TOOLBOX MURDERS remake, THE LOST SKELETON OF CADAVARA and others; and a Narciso Iba￿Serrador retrospective with screenings of his excellent WHO WOULD KILL A CHILD? and LA RESIDENCIA.
