‘The Walking Dead’ and spin-off series ‘Fear the Walking Dead’ have been hugely successful for AMC and so it comes as no surprise, especially with all the other horror-related shows out there currently vying for ratings, that the network is keen to have another genre based project in the works. Showrunners David Kajganich and Soo Hugh are heading up ‘The Terror’ a new anthology drama series set at sea. The project is based on the bestselling novel by author Dan Simmons and a new trio of faces have been added to the cast list. British stars Edward Ashley (‘In the Heart of the Sea’) and Liam Garrigan (‘Once Upon a Time’) have joined the project along with Irish star Ronan Raftery who plays Langdon Shaw in the new ‘Harry Potter’ prequel ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’.
The 10 episode series is due to premiere in 2017 and is a fictionalised account of Captain Sir John Franklin’s lost expedition of HMS Erebus and HMS Terror.

British stars Jared Harris (‘Poltergeist’), Ciarán Hinds (‘The Woman in Black’), Caroline Boulton, Kevin Guthrie, and ‘Game of Thrones’ actor Tobias Menzies are also lined up for starring roles in the new series.
