A couple of months back Alex Proyas’ ‘Paradise Lost’ feature adaption was being held up due to some severe financial difficulty. At the time both producers and Legendary Pictures were trying to trim the budget fat but alas it appears to have been a fruitless task. The decision made by Legendary is that they simply don’t have the budget available to bring the epic to the big screen. Production was set to begin in Australia this June but due to the expansive budget mostly due to the necessary effects that would be included in the feature the film is simply a no-go. Bradley Cooper (‘The Hangover’) was all set to star as Lucifer and he was to be joined by the likes of Benjamin Walker (‘Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter’), Casey Affleck (‘Tower Heist’), Rufus Sewell (‘Dark City’), Sam Reid, Djimon Hounsou, Diego Boneta and the sexy Camilla Belle (below). Perhaps one day in the future we’ll see a new version of the John Milton poem on the big screen.
