Ex-NFL Star Phillip Buchanon Produces Chilling New Horror Short Film: “KREASTER”

Los Angeles, CA – Former NFL standout Phillip Buchanon is making waves in the entertainment world as the producer of a gripping new horror short film, “KREASTER”. Known for his successful football career with teams such as the Oakland Raiders, Houston Texans, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Buchanon has seamlessly transitioned from the gridiron to filmmaking, building a reputation as a passionate and innovative producer.

“KREASTER” is directed by seasoned filmmaker Jacob Cooney (The Folic, Pitching Tents, Blood Circus) with a haunting script developed by Cooney, Buchanon, and acclaimed Emmy-winning writer Bill Hanstock (Alien Predator, Megalodon: The Frenzy). Along with Buchanon, David Gere (Midnight, Junction) and Chelsea Vale (Midnight, Damon’s Revenge) also serve as producers on the short film through their Shadow | Vale Productions banner. Together, they bring to life a chilling tale that promises to leave audiences on the edge of their seats.

Logline: After an unknown entity causes the entire population of a small town to disappear, a military officer and a civilian paranormal researcher are tasked to interview the town’s lone survivor.

The cast includes Sal Rendino (Billions), Laura Poe (The Blacklist, Twisters), and Greg Nutcher (The Equalizer), who deliver compelling performances in this atmospheric and thought-provoking short. Their work highlights the film’s themes of mystery, survival, and the unknown.

Phillip Buchanon’s passion for storytelling is evident in his dedication to KREASTER. Not only is he producing the short film to showcase it at film festivals worldwide, but he is also developing a feature-length adaptation. The full-length script, currently titled PENTECOST and crafted by Cooney and Hanstock, will delve deeper into the story’s eerie mythology and expand on the harrowing events that unfold in the short.

Storytelling has always been a part of my journey, Buchanon said. With KREASTER, we’re creating a narrative that’s both suspenseful and thought-provoking. I’m thrilled to work with such a talented team and bring this vision to life.

Jacob Cooney, known for his sharp direction and ability to craft compelling characters, expressed his excitement about the project: Phillip’s enthusiasm for this story has been infectious. We’re excited to bring this dark tale to life and, more importantly, delve deeper into the mythos to create an even darker, scarier, and compelling feature film.”

KREASTER is currently finalizing post-production and will debut at this year’s Made in Huntington Film and TV Festival next month. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting project as it moves into completion and out into the world.
