Amongst the many notable comic adaptations that have recently been announced Universal have jumped on board yet another themselves, this time in the form of Marc Guggenheim’s Resurrection comic from Oni Press.
The comic series was first published last October and there have been three issues to date. Guggenheim, many of you may know from the popular ‘Eli Stone’ series. Guggenheim himself and Oni Press’ Peter Schwerin will exec produce the project with Scott Stuber and Eric Gitter on hand as producers.
In the tradition of such timeless science fiction films like The Day The Earth Stood Still and War of the Worlds, this is the story of an alien race come to conquer. But while those classic tales focus on the invasion, Resurrection starts when those stories end. After years of conflict the aliens are gone and the planet is safe… or is it? Who ended the war? How did they do it? Where do we go from here?
