MSN has scored a first look at the trailer for THE HITCHER, starring Sean Bean as the titular maniac and STAY ALIVE’s Sophia Bush (who intros the clip) and Zachary (CHERRY FALLS) Knighton as a road-trippin’ couple who run afoul of the dangerous hitchhiker. Music-vid helmer Dave Meyers directs this update from a script by Jake Wade Wall and Eric Bernt, based on the unnerving ’86 thriller directed by Robert Harmon and written by Eric Red. That one had C. Thomas Howell and Rutger Hauer playing a most dangerous game of cat and mouse which resulted in one helluva onscreen relationship, a finger fry, a lot of dead cops and things blowing up real good. Look for the new HITCHER to come driving into theaters January 19 via Rogue Pictures and look for Fango magazine coverage to begin in Fango #259, on sale in December!
