Actor Michael Hogan, star of the popular Battlestar Galactica TV series has joined the cast of Catherine Hardwicke’s ‘Red Riding Hood’. Hogan, who plays Colonel Tigh in BSG, will be joining the beautiful Amanda Seyfried (see below), Gary Oldman and Julie Christie.
“Set in a medieval village that is haunted by a werewolf, a young girl (Seyfried) falls for an orphaned woodcutter (Max Irons), much to her family’s displeasure.”
Hardwicke, helmer of the original ‘Twilight’ movie, will hopefully bring some oomph to the retelling of the classic story but alas it may also become a dull and watered down snore-fest. Let’s hope she can bring some edginess back to her filmmaking. David Johnson (‘Orphan’) penned the script.
‘Red Riding Hood’ is set for a 22 April 2011 nationwide release across the US.
