The new leg of the ‘Starship Troopers’ franchise is set to hit DVD and Blu-ray on 28 August stateside and in preparation IGN have revealed another new trailer from the action packed animated flick. Shinji Aramaki directs the Sola Digital Arts produced sequel that features the reappearance of Carl Jenkins, the character played by Neil Patrick Harris (‘The Smurfs’) in the original feature. Apart from the sci-fi action the discs will come complete with the following special features to salivate over; Filmmaker Commentary, Gag Reel, The Making of Starship Troopers: Invasion Genesis, The Making of Starship Troopers: Invasion Archive, Character Design, Motion Capture, Powersuits, “I don’t like funerals”, Bugs, Ships, Animation, Backgrounds, Compositing and Music. “A distant Federation outpost Fort Casey comes under attack by bugs. The team on the fast attack ship Alesia is assigned to help the Starship John A. Warden stationed in Fort Casey evacuate along with the survivors and bring military intelligence safely back to Earth. Carl Jenkins, now ministry of Paranormal Warfare, takes the starship on a clandestine mission before its rendezvous with the Alesia and goes missing in the nebula. Now, the battle-hardened troopers are charged with a rescue mission that may lead to a much more sinister consequence than they ever could have imagined.”
