After the hastily posted ‘Evil Dead’ sneak peek trailer preview from last week at New York’s Comic Con event it came as no surprise that the bootlegged copies were soon removed. Thankfully however today sees the arrival of the first ‘official’ teaser trailer for us to enjoy. And even though the shaky blurry shot footage spotted last week wasn’t top notch it still gave us a great insight into the horror remake from Ghost House Pictures and what we could expect. Now cleaned up we can feast our eyes on some proper looking horror and gore from the Fede Alvarez helmed project as opposed the all too familiar method of watering down remakes. Jane Levy (‘Suburgatory’), Shiloh Fernandez (‘Red Riding Hood’), Jessica Lucas (‘Cloverfield’), Lou Taylor Pucci (‘Carriers’) and Elizabeth Blackmore all star in the redo heading your way next April! “Five twenty-something friends become holed up in a remote cabin where they discover a Book Of The Dead. An archaeologist’s tape recording reveals that the ancient text was discovered among the Khandarian ruins of a Sumerian civilization. Playing the taped incantations, the youths unwittingly summon up dormant demons living in the nearby woods, which possess the youngsters in succession until only one is left intact to fight for survival.”
