That wacky old soul Tim Burton is currently developing his adaption of 1960’s sci-fi/horror TV show ‘Dark Shadows’. It’s been in the pipeline for Burton for a few years now but he has his male lead in the form Johnny Depp (shock!) and already the likes of the reimagined Freddy Krueger himself Jackie Earle Haley (‘A Nightmare on Elm Street’, ‘Watchmen’) and cutie Bella Heathcote have signed up to the project. But today it’s the turn of French hottie Eva Green – below (‘Casino Royale’) to join. She’ll be playing Angelique, a powerful witch who was alternately tormented and bewitched by her love-hate relationship with Barnabas Collins (Depp).
The original series of ‘Dark Shadows’, created by Dan Curtis, spawned over 1225 episodes over the years and was a highly atmospheric, spooky soap that featured gothic horror staples like vampires, monsters, witches, werewolves, ghosts and zombies.
