Still Waiting On Bill Murray To Even Read The New ‘Ghostbusters 3’ Script

Bit of a constantly annoying pattern occuring here, but it seems Bill Murray is still trying his very best to stop the spooktacular ‘Ghostbusters 3’ from getting moving. Both producer Joe Medjuck and writer Lee Eisenberg have both said once again that Bill is “the only reason the film hasn’t gone before the cameras yet”. Medjuck has also stated recently that Sony want to make it, the script is great, Bill knows this but still hasn’t found the time to pick it up and actually read it. “He just says he’s busy…”. Apparently this is pretty normal for Bill as director and ‘Ghostbusters’ co-star Harold Ramis had the same problem getting him to read the script for ‘Groundhog Day’ and that was turned out to be a brilliant flick! Check out what Eisenberg had to say on the matter below.

Says Eisenberg (in a lecture at his old college via ScreenRant), “Right now, we have a script we haven’t worked on probably in a couple of months, and we’re waiting for Bill Murray to read it. People seem excited about it, and the studio seems high on it. … We’re very proud of it. We worked really hard on it, and I think it’d be a really fun movie.”

“We’ve been working really closely with Ivan Reitman for a couple years on it. Dan Aykroyd has been really involved. Harold Ramis has been very involved — we’re sharing a story credit on it with him. Then we reworked the script. I mean, that script went through a lot of rewrites, and it kept getting, we think at least, tighter and funnier. It took a little bit to really understand the tone of a movie like Ghostbusters. It’s really scary when you’re writing characters you grew up on. The last thing you want to do is disappoint.”
