The Top Five Sporting Horror Scenes

By Horror Asylum on November 15, 2015 News

Despite the obvious fact that the number of horror movies has exceeded all limits, a percentage of sports-themed horror movies in film history is surprisingly small. This is quite upsetting for those of us who consider themselves zealous sport fans.

However, the use of sport inventory in horror movies is more than a trend; it is an old school tradition. Finding themselves alone with vampires or maniacs, heroes cling to what is at hand: bats, golf clubs or even soccer balls. In this article, you will find a few horror scenes, which will teach you a new way to handle sports equipment.

    Movie Reel

Friday the 13th Part 8 – Boxing Jason
Jason Voorhees is not only deadly, but also extremely ingenious. Thereby, you must not be surprised to see him in the boxing ring. A nice punch performed by this legendary maniac literally decapitates a victim, presenting us classic horror scene – highly-strung and exotic.

Final Destination 5 – Gymnastics of Death
Gymnastics is dangerous enough in itself. However, being combined with a deadly mystical curse, it inevitably leads to catastrophe. One of the most disturbing horror scenes in movie history and one of our honorary nominees.

    Deadly Friend – Deadly Throw
Do you think that basketball is not deadly? Looking for where to bet? This legendary scene, which is as horrifying as hilarious, will change your ideas forever. The deadly throw of the basketball that leads to the explosion of the old auntie’s head – this scene looks right like it sounds. Well, at least no one will say that it is a cliché.

Shaun of the Dead – Cricket Bat
This famous British comedy has got into this list, not by mistake. The main heroes try many kinds of weapons against zombies, even including gramophone records. Nevertheless, they soon come to the conclusion that there is nothing better than a cricket bat and this scene is really a work of art.

    Signs – Baseball Bat
One of the most frightening movies of all times also cannot do without the good old baseball bat. The final encounter between a family of survivors and the evil alien would be lost without the help of the Joaquin Phoenix’s character – Merrill. Being guided by a sudden insight, he uses his prized bat in a right way and knocks off the monster. Surely, this dramatic scene full of tension proves that the right use of weapons is crucial for your survival.

If you happen to find these scenes unrealistic or unsatisfying, you can take a look at dramas, which take place in the real world with real sportsmen and fans. Of course, none of the events that take place on great gambling sites can be considered horrifying. On the contrary, online betting is a peaceful way to experience classic tension when trying to guess a winner. So this may be interesting for those seeking other entertainment avenues in which to get a quick rush of adrenaline.
