Christmas is not exactly a holiday that you would typcially associate with the genre yet it’s a time of the year that often produces plenty of horror entertainment. For some twisted reason the festive season can be a brilliantly effective backdrop for horror with classic movies such as ‘Black Christmas’, ‘Silent Night, Deadly Night’, ‘Jack Frost’, ‘Rare Exports’, ‘Gremlins’ all using Christmas and Christmas-related themes to bring their horrific tales to life.
One of the most famous figures from the Christmas season is of course the iconic green grump ‘The Grinch’ and if you haven’t already entered then there’s still time for you to try and win our cool Men’s Grinch Costume Kit in our giveaway section here at the Horror Asylum. The title character hates Christmas and the Whos down in Whoville who love Christmas a lot. One Christmas Eve he decides to steal the holiday away from the Whos. He becomes an anti-Santa, enters their homes and takes away all their presents, decorations and even food. In the process, he discovers that there is more to the holiday than material items and he changes for the better. Gloves and pants are not included.
