“The first movie sets up ‘The Collector’, the second movie is about ‘The Collector’s collection, and the third movie is about a couple of people he has collected”. Yes that’s right folks forget numeric sequels these days its all about how we can twist a little word play to make new releases seem almost like an entirely different entity. Do numbers scare us? Crave Online have been chatting with writer/director Marcus Dunstan (‘Saw 3D’) who has been talking about a possible threequel to his and writing partner Patrick Melton’s (‘Piranha 3DD’) gruesome survival horror flick ‘The Collector’, called…you guessed it…’The Collected’. “If we get a chance. It’s already written, it’s good to go…” says Dunstan. The duo are currently working on a script for ‘God of War’ so if and when a third entry in the series may occur is anybody’s guess.
Meanwhile its predecessor ‘The Collection’ landed on DVD in the US yesterday so you can pick up your own copy now. The movie stars Josh Stewart (‘The Dark Knight Rises’), Christopher McDonald (‘The Faculty’), Daniel Sharman, Andre Royo and Navi Rawat.
“When Elena’s (Fitzpatrick) friends take her to a secret party at an undisclosed location, she never imagined she would become the latest victim of The Collector, a psychopathic killer. The Collector kidnaps and transports her to an abandoned hotel he’s transformed into his own private maze of torture and death. Upon learning of his daughter’s disappearance, Elena’s wealthy father hires a group of mercenaries to retrieve her from the vicious grips of The Collector. These mercenaries coerce Arkin (Stewart), the only man to have escaped the wrath of this heinous monster, to lead them through the gruesome labyrinth. Now, Arkin finds himself fighting for his own life in order to save Elena.”
‘The Collection’ is set to hit UK shores on DVD on 29 April. You can pre-order your copy here.
