Chloe Moretz (‘Dark Shadows’) and Julianne Moore (‘Hannibal’) cling together in the latest official new still from the upcoming ‘Carrie’ remake. Although it doesn’t arrive in theatres until this October the project, helmed by Kimberly Peirce, is still firmly in asset overdrive. The redo based on the novel by Stephen King is months away still from release but will be a difficult final product to piece together especially when trying to view it having already enjoyed Brian De Palma’s version made back in 1976 on several occasions. Portia Doubleday (‘Youth in Revolt’), Alex Russell (‘Chronicle’), Ansel Elgort, Judy Greer (‘The Village’) and Gabriella Wilde also star. Check the new image below.
“The quiet suburb of Chamberlain, Maine is home to the deeply religious and conservative Margaret White and her daughter Carrie. Carrie is a sweet but meek outcast whom Margaret has sheltered from society. Gym teacher Miss Desjardin tries in vain to protect Carrie from local mean girls led by the popular and haughty Chris Hargenson, but only Chris’ best friend, Sue Snell, regrets their actions. In an effort to make amends, Sue asks her boyfriend, high school heartthrob Tommy Ross, to take Carrie to prom. Pushed to the limit by her peers at the dance, Carrie unleashes telekinetic havoc.”
‘Carrie’ opens 18 October 2013.
