I can’t say we’re too surprised by this news. As hard working as Robert Rodriguez (‘Machete Kills’) is the long-awaited ‘Sin City’ sequel ‘Sin City: A Dame to Kill For’ is most definitely not a project to be rushed to screens. And this appears to be the case for the comic book feature follow-up which has just been pushed back from its originally slated 4 October 2013 release all the way to August 22 2014. Rumour has it that it has something to do with the effects work on the project but no official reason has been given so far. But just think when this rolls around how exciting it’ll be to finally feast our eyes upon it. Even just for the overly-impressive cast sheet that includes Josh Brolin, Joseph Gordon-Levit (‘Looper’), Mickey Rourke, Jamie Chung, Eva Green, Bruce Willis, Rosario Dawson, Jaime King, Jessica Alba (below), Crystal McCahill, Dennis Haysbert, Ray Liotta, Jeremy Piven, Juno Temple and Alexa Vega.
“Stuck with nothing but a seedy gumshoe job and some demons, Dwight’s thinking of all the ways he’s screwed up and what he’d give for one clear chance to wipe the slate clean, to dig his way out of the numb gray hell that is his life. And he’d give anything. Just to feel the fire. One more time. But he can’t let himself lose control again, can’t ever let the monster out. And then Ava calls. With a new look generating more excitement than ever before, this third edition is the perfect way to attract a whole new generation of readers to Frank Miller’s masterpiece!”
