Little Big Film Company and Open Fire Films have agreed to co-produce the new psychological horror feature ‘The Toyol’. The movie is inspired by an eerie Malay folktale and is set to be directed by Brian Kazmarck (‘Terminal Legacy’). Russell Southam and Brian Smith are on board as producers and the project is tentatively scheduled to begin shooting in Spring 2014. A Toyol or Tuyul is a mythical spirit in Malay mythology of South-East Asia. Head below to check out the plot details.
“A father attempts to reconnect with his six-year-old daughter in the wake of his wife’s sudden and tragic death. Traumatized, the young girl retreats from her family only to find solace in a new and peculiar little friend who enters her life. A number of gruesome and untimely accidents leave neighbors and family members dead with only one thing in common: the daughter is the last to see them alive. With evidence mounting and his daughter the prime suspect, her father must race to uncover the real culprit and save them both.”
