Stunning British star Samantha Barks has signed up to star in Universal’s newest incarnation of ‘Dracula’ which will see Luke Evans don the famous cape albeit in an ‘origin’ type manner. Barks (below) made her feature debut in last year’s hit musical adaption ‘Les Misérables’ from director Tom Hooper. Along with her fellow performers Charlie Cox, Thor Kristjansson and Art Parkinson have also signed on for various roles. Barks is lined up to play Baba Yaga, a witch who appears as a ferocious looking woman according to Slavic folklore. Sarah Gadon (‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’) and Dominic Cooper (‘Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter’) are also set to star.
‘Dracula’ is set for release in the US on 8 August 2014.
