The first official trailer for Jim Mickle’s ‘We Are What We Are’ cannibalistic remake has finally landed. It hits limited theatres on both sides of the US on 27 September with a wider release following thereafter. The remake is based on the original Mexican horror of the same name from writer/director Jorge Michel Grau which was released back in 2010 and will screen next month in both New York and Los Angeles. The trailer is very impressive and subtle and still manages to give off a very atmospheric and creepy vibe. Bill Sage, Ambyr Childers, Julia Garner, Michael Parks (‘Red State’), Wyatt Russell and Kelly McGillis all star in the redo. Head below to check out the new trailer.
“A seemingly wholesome and benevolent family, the Parkers have always kept to themselves, and for good reason. Behind closed doors, patriarch Frank (Sage) rules his family with a rigorous ferver, determined to keep his ancestral customs intact at any cost. As a torrential rainstorm moves into the area, tragedy strikes and his daughters Iris (Childers) and Rose (Garner) are forced to assume responsibilities that extend beyond those of a typical family. As the unrelenting downpour continues to flood their small town, the local authorities begin to uncover clues that bring them closer to the secret that the Parkers have held closely for so many years.”
‘We Are What We Are’ will open in UK theatres from 25 October.
