Blumhouse and Dimension will soon be reviving the ‘Amityville’ franchise once they officially secure a director to tackle the script penned by Casey La Scala and Daniel Farrands. ‘Maniac’ helmer Franck Khalfoun is currently in negotiations to direct but its ‘eXistenZ’ star Jennifer Jason Leigh and the beautiful Bella Thorne -below (‘Home Invasion’) who have signed on the dotted line to headline the cast. The project, which was formerly known as ‘The Amityville Horror: The Lost Tapes’, has been hanging around for a while now but with this decent double casting and an official release date announced the project will finally be seeing the light of day in early 2015.
“Leigh will play play Joan, a single mother raising three kids all on her own. The family move into the infamous ‘Amityville’ house, only to learn that it has a very dark history.”
‘Amityville’ is set for a release on 2 January 2015.
