Stunning model turned actress Analeigh Tipton (below) has signed up for Blumhouse Production’s new horror thriller ‘Viral’. The star of romantic comedy (‘Crazy, Stupid, Love’) and romantic zombie comedy (‘Warm Bodies’) will play the role of Stacey, who along with her parents and sister Emma get quarantined in their city when a deadly virus infects their whole neighbourhood. ‘Viral’, previously known as both ‘Peste’ and ‘Pest’, will be directed by ‘Paranormal Activity 3’ and ‘Catfish’ duo Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman. Mark Tonderai (‘House at the End of the Street’) was originally attached to helm from a script by Barbara Marshall and ‘Zombieland’s Abigail Breslin was being touted to star. Whether Breslin is still in the running is not yet known, but the part of Emma is still yet to be filled.
“VIRAL follows the aftermath of a lethal parasitic outbreak which causes alien-like tentacles to sprout from the infected, who then develop a craving for their fellow humans.”
Production begins next week.
