THE FAB FEAR WITHOUT FRONTIERS
For those of you making the trek up to Montreal for the annual Fantasia Film Festival, here’s something to look for if you’re going to be around Monday, July 28th.
FAB Press, publishers of amazing books on amazing people like Lucio Fulci and Dario Argento, will be on hand for the duration of the festival, selling copies of their books (like ‘Agitator: The Films of Takashi Miike’) and on Monday the 28th, Fantasia will be the home of an event to launch their latest book into North America, ‘Fear Without Frontiers: Horror Cinema Across the Globe’.
Aside from having one of the coolest covers ever, the meat of the book is a focus on horror directors and films from sea to shining sea that for whatever reason have not gained the kind of notoriety one might expect. People like Hideo Nakata, Jean Rollin and Pupi Avati are focused on, ghost stories from Bollywood, Mexican vampire movies, Austrian serial killer films…a lot of weird stuff that you may not have, but probably would like to, hear about.
You can get the book at FAB’s official site right now, but if you’re at Fantasia for the event, make sure you tell ’em the Horror Asylum sent you!
